WATCH ALMOST 500 ILONGGOS JOINED A PRAYER RALLY FOR PEACE RULE OF LAW AND JUSTICE TO MAYOR JED PATRICK MALIBOG.

      Iloilo is being destroyed

About 500 Ilonggos joined a prayer rally for “peace, rule of law and justice” and to show support for Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog
ILOILO CITY – There was no sound system or even a megaphone and the speaker had to stand on a bench to be heard.
Some already went home because there was no clear schedule or program.
The prayer rally for “peace, rule of law and justice” had little semblance of organization but hundreds who came did not mind.

“We are praying not just for Mayor (Jed Patrick) Mabilog but for Iloilo City as whole,” said Normandy Notes, an evangelical pastor who led a prayer rally at the historic Plaza Libertad here.
“We are saddened with what has been happening and because Iloilo has been unfairly labeled as most shabulized,” he said.

He said the repeated statements of the President describing Iloilo as having the worst drug problem in the country are affecting how other people view all Ilonggos.
“I have been living here for 30 years and we all know what is true,” he said.
At least 300 gathered at the plaza, many of whom lit candles while praying.
At least 200 more had earlier attended Mass at the San Jose Church a few meters from the plaza.
Those who attended included friends and schoolmates of Mabilog, businessmen, civic leaders and religious groups. But many others just came there in response to invitations from social media.
“The bullying must stop. They are instilling fear so that we will not speak up,” a landowner said.

They’re not just destroying Jed. Iloilo is being destroyed,” said business executive Manny Gruenberg.
The prayer rally was held two days after the assignment of Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido as officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Office.

OMBUDSMAN, MORALES TELLS PRESIDENT RODY DUTERTE SEPT. 01 ,2017

Ombudsman, Morales tells Duterte

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales will serve out her full term as mandated by law, President Duterte’s alternative interpretation notwithstanding.
Morales said Section 8(3) of the Ombudsman Act of 1989 allowed her to serve her full term, contrary to Mr. Duterte’s claim that she should only have served the remainder of the unfinished term of her resigned predecessor Merceditas Gutierrez.
The said provision provided that in case of vacancy, “the Overall Deputy shall serve as Acting Ombudsman in a concurrent capacity until a new Ombudsman shall have been appointed for a full term.”

“We are following the law … When the incumbent Ombudsman leaves the office … the Deputy Ombudsman shall be the acting Ombudsman until a new Ombudsman is appointed who shall serve for a full term,” Morales told reporters on the sidelines of the Ramon Magsaysay Award ceremony on Thursday.
Mr. Duterte, in a speech on Tuesday, claimed that Morales’ hold on her position was “precarious.”
He said: “You are supposed to serve the remaining term of the guy who resigned, not to a full term. That is very clear under the law.”
Not selective
Morales, a 2016 Magsaysay awardee, also denied Mr. Duterte’s claims she was a selective Ombudsman. She was just prioritizing high-profile cases as mandated by the Ombudsman Act, she told reporters.
“You know, under the law … we give priority to high-profile cases, high government officials who hold supervisory positions or cases that involve huge amount of money or big property,” she said.
Morales also explained that the pork-barrel scam cases against three former senators—Bong Revilla Jr., Jinggoy Estrada, and Juan Ponce Enrile—would certainly be prioritized because “there is already this testimonial claim against them,” on account of the affidavit of alleged scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.
“That came first, definitely, because you did not have to look hard for evidence on top of what you gathered,” she explained.

Morales also denied criticism that her office was slow to conduct investigations, and even pointed out that she cleared the immense backlog she inherited from previous administrations.
“I inherited more than 19,000 cases dating back as old as 1999, would you believe? A lot have slept. Naturally, we had to attend to them right away, on top of the fact that in the interim, about 35,000 cases were filed,” she said.
“I’m proud to say, as I have said again, our pending [case load] as of December 2016 was more than 6,000 cases,” she added.

WAR BETWEEN TWO SENATORS SEN.GORDON VS TRILLANES IV..

WORD WAR Senators Richard Gordon and Antonio Trillanes IV are pacified after their verbal exchange by Sen. Vicente Sotto III.
Tempers flared when Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday called the blue ribbon panel chaired by Sen. Richard Gordon a “comité de absuelto” (committee of exoneration).
The Senate committee’s investigation of smuggling into the country of P6.4 billion worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in May has led to the “Davao Group” that allegedly facilitated the smuggling. The group allegedly includes Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and lawyer Maneses “Mans” Carpio.
Vice Mayor Duterte is President Duterte’s son and Carpio his son-in-law.
The motion of Trillanes to summon the younger Duterte and Carpio to the Senate hearing triggered heated exchanges between him and Gordon and even Senate Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III.
At the fifth committee hearing on the shabu smuggling, Gordon not only vowed to file an ethics case against Trillanes but also threatened him with expulsion.
rillanes said he would “welcome” the filing of an ethics case against him.
Gordon told Trillanes that he had been accusing everybody in the Senate of many things and had tangled with some senators. Trillanes replied that he was accusing only Gordon.
Gordon then reiterated his threat to file an ethics case against Trillanes, telling him “to behave himself otherwise I will put the sergeant at arms before him.”
Trillanes said he was maintaining his objection to Gordon’s “irrational behavior” and “doing a one-man show for several hours.”
Gordon said Trillanes’ problem was “every time he does not like it, he will conduct a coup and he will be forgiven.”
Trillanes was a member of the Magdalo group of junior military officers who launched a mutiny against the administration of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
He shot back at his colleague with a reminder that the latter was “even pathetic” for barricading himself at the Subic Freeport to hold on to his position as chair.
Trillanes was referring to an incident in which Gordon was being booted out as Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority chair during the Estrada administration.
The last exchange prompted Sotto to move for a suspension of the hearing to allow things to cool down.
Customs ‘fixer’
Trillanes asked the committee to invite the President’s eldest son and son-in-law after a Bureau of Customs (BOC) “fixer,” Mark Taguba, testified that he had sent to his contact “Tita Nani” text messages that implicated Vice Mayor Duterte and Carpio to the Davao Group.
Taguba said he gave a total of P8 million to the Davao Group—P5 million to Davao City Councilor Nilo “Small” Abellera Jr. as “enrollment fee”; P1-million advance to a certain Jack and another P2 million for Vice Mayor Duterte who Jack said was concerned about the way the group of Taguba’s father was transacting business.
Taguba helped smuggle into the country the 604 kilograms of shabu from China in May.
Trillanes said the committee had “enough information that would warrant the invitation for both Mans Carpio and Paolo Duterte to this committee hearing.”
But Trillanes also noted that he had overheard Sotto, who was at the hearing, that Taguba’s statements were “hearsay.”
The senator then told Sotto that the committee was “not a court” but “an investigative body.”
Lawyering for Paolo
“We are just establishing the truth. We are ferreting out the truth. Let them defend themselves. Let’s not lawyer for them,” Trillanes said, angering Sotto, who denied he was lawyering for the younger Duterte and Carpio.
Sotto explained that he was saying in the background that the committee should study Trillanes’ motion because the statements about the two men were hearsay.
“It does not mean ‘no’ (to the invitation). Don’t accuse me,” he said.
Trillanes said he wanted the younger Duterte and Carpio invited so they could clear their names “unless (the two men) are being treated by this committee as sacred cows.”
As he repeated his motion, Trillanes also wondered why “suddenly” the witness was being badgered.
“Are you accusing the chair or Senator Sotto of badgering the witness?” Gordon asked Trillanes, who replied “if you feel alluded to.”
Gordon then told Trillanes that he was “fond of making general statements” as he reminded that the hearing was not a “cockpit of rumors.” He then suspended the hearing after telling Trillanes that he was “out of order.”
But Trillanes said “the blue ribbon committee is becoming a comité de absuelto.”
When the hearing resumed, Gordon quizzed Abellera on Taguba’s testimony during the previous hearing that he personally handed him P5 million as “enrollment fee” for joining the Davao Group.
Abellera confirmed that he had met only once with Taguba through a certain Jack at a Davao City restaurant bar in January but denied he accepted money from him.
Both Abellera and Taguba said they did not know the last name of Jack, and Gordon said he wondered why Abellera would meet with Jack and even keep  his phone number without knowing the man’s last name.
Taguba said Abellera had told him that he should remit money to the Davao Group properly.
Carpio on Tuesday called Trillanes a rumormonger after the senator accused him of being behind the Davao Group. Vice Mayor Duterte did not respond to the senator’s latest accusation against him.

SIR.JAKE ZYRU'S MOTHER LASHES BACK AT 'LIES' IN MMK APISODE LAST AUGUST 26,2017

Jake Zyrus’ mother lashes back at ‘lies’ in MMK episode

Jake Zyrus told his painful life story on the TV drama series “Maalaala Mo Kaya” Saturday evening.
The episode depicted the emotional and physical abuse he experienced since childhood from his mother, Raquel Pempengco, portrayed by Dina Bonnevie.
Mutya Orquia and Sharlene San Pedro played Charice while Zyrus played himself transitioning as a man.

always been opposed to expressing himself as a man, even as she herself once admitted to being a lesbian.
Pempengco chose to tell her side on Facebook and through media interviews.
On Sunday morning, she shared a baby photo of Charice and her brother supposedly after their father left them with the following caption:
Pinipilit mong iangat ang sarili mo kahit puro kasinungalingan ang gawin mo? (You’re still trying to raise your status even if you’re full of lies?)…Kasama ka pa rin sa pananalangin at pag darasal ko. Maramiming makakapagpatunay na dati mong mga kaibigan kung sino ako sa inyong magkapatid. Marami ka ng taong ginamit. (You are still part of my prayers. Many can prove how I really was with you and your brother. You have used so many people.)”

In another post, she wrote, “Sobra ang tinulo ng luha ko habang nanood ako muntik pa kong atakihin. How can i defend myself? Gusto kong magalit sumumpa pero di ko magawa kasi nangingibabaw pa rin ang pagmamahal ko sa inyong magkapatid. (I cried so much, I almost got a heart attack… I want to be angry, to curse, but I still love you and your brother.”
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Pempengco gave her side regarding certain scenes in the episode, such as when Zyrus was still Charice and providing financial support to her family.
Sa buong storya na sinabi ni Charice, lahat ito walang katotohanan puro kasinungalingan ang lahat ng sinabi ni Charice dito (Charice’s entire account is false.).”
She still referred to her child as Charice despite his identifying himself as a man and naming himself Jake Zyrus this year.

The episode showed Charice giving P500,000 a month to her family when she was in the United States, only to get hit with tax evasion charges and find bills left unpaid.
Ang katotohanan ay 2010 pa pinabayaan na kami niyan ni Charice… Bakit ako ang sinisisi niya sa tax niya hindi naman ako ang manager niya at accountant niya (The truth is Charice left us on our own since 2010. Why is she blaming me for her taxes when I’m neither her manager nor her accountant?),” Pempengco told the network.
As Charice, her mother’s rejection of her sexuality—whether it was dressing as a boy or falling in love with a person of the same sex—and putting pressure on her in terms of her career, led Charice to multiple suicide attempts.
Ilang beses siyang lumayas, ilang beses bumalik puro ako ang pinasasama niya palagi (She ran away and came back several times but she still puts me in a bad light.),” Pempengco related. She also claimed that the suicide attempts were because of a non-showbiz girlfriend.
Isa lang mensahe ko sa kanya huwag na niyang dagdagan pa ang kasalanan niya (My only message for her is not to add to her sins anymore.),” Pempengco added.
She also claimed that Zyrus was desperate to revive his career: “Walang alam na trabaho si Charice kaya pinipilit niya na i-survive ang career niya. Lalo na ngayon at wala na siyang boses na ipagmamalaki (She doesn’t know anything other than singing which is why she’s trying to make her career survive, especially now that she has no more voice to boast of)

ASIAN GAME HERO CENTENO,BIADO LEAD 4 GOLD..

Centeno, Biado lead 4-gold  haul

KUALA LUMPUR—Carlo Biado and Chezka Centeno swept billiards’ 9-ball singles finals, taekwondo jin Samuel Morrison prevailed in what could be his farewell Southeast Asian Games fight and Filipino-Japanese teen Mariya Takahashi rocked the judo competition as Team Philippines raised its gold-medal haul to 22 on Sunday.
The 18-year-old Centeno kept her title with a 7-6 decision over two-time world champion Rubilen Amit at KLCC Hall 4.
Biado then plucked the men’s gold—the country’s fourth for the day—over Duong Quoc Hoang of Vietnam, 9-5.

“I know that I have all the breaks and that boosted my confidence” said the 33-year-old Biado, also a gold medalist in the recent World Games in Poland.
As of 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the Philippines remained mired in sixth place with 22 golds, 28 silvers and 55 bronzes, three days left before the Games end.
At nearby Hall 1, Samuel Morrison used his late grandmother as inspiration to score a 28-18 win over Dinggo Ard Prayogo of Indonesia, in the -74 kilogram division final.
That somehow eased the grief of SEA Games rookie Arven Alcantara losing the -68 kg gold.
Alcantara settled for silver as hometown bet Rozaimi bin Rozali was ruled the winner by “punitive declaration” with the scores deadlocked at 17-all.
The head judge ruled that the Filipino jin had accumulated 10 gamjeoms (penalties) and was disqualified, although the Philippine camp insisted that Alcantara had only nine as indicated on the electronic scoreboard.
With 13 seconds left in the third and final round, Alcantara rallied from 13-16 down with a kick to the Malaysian’s head, worth four points, but was penalized for slipping, leading to the 17-all deadlock.
Had the judge allowed the match to proceed, both jins would have gone on to sudden-death, with the first to score a point taking the gold.

Takahashi, 16, also stole the thunder from four-time champion Surattana Thongsri of Thailand via ippon in the first 43 seconds of their women’s -70kg event.
Olympian Michael Martinez, meanwhile, settled for second place in the men’s individual free skating event after crashing in the middle of his routine.
Martinez scored a total of 171.63 points, paving the way for Malaysian Julian Zhi-Jie Yee (205.43) to claim the gold. Another Malaysian, Khai Xiang Chew (145.52), bagged bronze.
The Philippines finished with 29 golds medals each during the 2013 Myanmar and 2015 Singapore SEA Games.

PRESIDENT RODY DUTERTE ASSIGNS ESPENIDO TO ILOILO CITY..

Duterte assigns Espenido to Iloilo City

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday requested Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido to be alloted to Iloilo.

Espenido was the police leader of Albuera, Leyte, when Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. was executed in an affirmed shootout inside the subprovincial imprison in Baybay City.
"Your next task is Iloilo," Duterte told Espenido amid his discourse at the National Heroes' Day festivity in Taguig City.During the occasion, the President granted Espenido with the Magalong Medal, which is presented on authorities and work force of the legislature and private people who have rendered "phenomenal administration or have made uncommon commitments to the accomplishment of a movement according to a battle or backing of the President."

GLEN RICE,S 3RD QUARTER EXPLOSION..PBA GAME

Vanguardia rues Rice’s 3rd quarter explosion in Phoenix loss to TNT

Phoenix head coach Ariel Vanguardia couldn’t help but watch Glen Rice Jr. put up hotter flames than the Fuel Masters could muster when they lost to TNT, 110-103, Friday in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
Rice scored 38 points to lead the KaTropa but eviscerated Phoenix for 20 points alone in the third quarter and that explosion helped TNT take an 86-79 over the Fuel Masters.
“We put multiple defenders on him, and we forced him to drive because we know that he can shoot,” said Vanguardia at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “But today he was on attack mode and we weren’t able to a good job when he attacked.”

Rice went 1-of-3 from beyond the arc and just one attempt from mid-range, and the he converted 13 of his 20 shots from inside the paint.
And if Rice got trapped inside, his next move was to kick out to open teammates for jumpers.
Vanguardia said they could’ve held on to their slim lead after the first half, 49-46, if they managed to at least slow Rice and TNT down in the third quarter.
Phoenix did score 30 points in the penultimate period, a highly respectable mark, but the KaTropa put up 40.
“TNT scored 40 points on the third and if not for that explosion in the third quarter it would’ve been better for us because we were leading in the half,” said Vanguardia whose team now sits with a 2-6 record, and riding a six-game skid.

WATCH KOBE PARAS' HIGHLIGHT DUNKS DURING INDONESIA GAME AUGUST 26,2017

Gilas Pilipinas' rousing gold medal win in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

Kobe Paras' two highlight dunks served as the exclamation points in Gilas Pilipinas' rousing gold medal win in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
Indonesia gave the Philippines a better challenge this time around.
But just like the 2017 SEABA Championships just last May, Gilas Pilipinas remains as the undisputed king of ASEAN basketball.
The Philippines took care of Indonesia Saturday at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, 94-55, winning gold in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
It's the country's 12th straight SEA Games gold medal in men's basketball and 18th overall.
Both the Philippines and Indonesia entered the Final undefeated and the Indonesians actually gave Gilas fits in the first 10 minutes.
However, guard Mike Tolomia sparked an uprising in the second quarter ad Gilas got some much-needed separation.
Tolomia fired three triples on his way to 11 points in the first half as the Philippines entered the break with a 45-27 lead.
Gilas continued to pound on Indonesia in the second half and come the fourth quarter, the gold medal was sealed after two highlight dunks by teenage sensation Kobe Paras.
Tolomia finished with a game-high 20 points off the bench, 15 coming from beyond the arc, while Paras added 14 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting.
Raymar Jose and Christian Standhardinger likewise finished in double figures for the Philippines with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Individual records were also set in this rousing victory by Gilas Pilipinas.
Kiefer Ravena won a record fourth SEA Games gold medal. Perhaps his final shot in the biennial meet was a booming stepback triple that gave the Philippines its biggest lead and final tally, 94-55.
Ray Parks and Kevin Ferrer won their third gold medals, tying Rommel Adducul for second most.
Diftha Pratama and Sandy Kurniawan carried the fight for Indonesia, winners of back-to-back silver medals, with 10 points each.

FLOYED MAYWEATHER JR VS. CONOR MCGREGOR FIGHT AUGUST 27,2017 FULL

FLOYED MAYWEATHER JR VS. CONOR MCGREGOR  FIGHT AUGUST 27,2017 FULL

Floyd Mayweather Jr., left, and Conor McGregor face off during a weigh-in Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, in Las Vegas. The two are scheduled to fight in a boxing match Saturday in Las Vegas. AP

LAS VEGAS, United States — The big money continued rolling in just before fight time at this city’s sports books, with several million-dollar bets on Floyd Mayweather Jr. to beat Conor McGregor.
Bookies had faced taking a big loss because McGregor tickets outnumbered Mayweather tickets by as much as 18-1 at some books. But the big bets started coming in Thursday on Mayweather and at the William Hill chain of sports books 74 percent of the money on straight bets was on Mayweather.
There were a handful of million-dollar bets on Mayweather, with three coming in just hours before the fight. The biggest reported bet on McGregor is $100,000.

Bookmakers say they still will post a big loss should McGregor beat Mayweather, especially if he stops him early. If Mayweather wins, though, it will be a big score by the sports books.
Mayweather was minus 600 at William Hill, down from 11-1 when the fight was announced.
The fight is shaping up to be the biggest bet fight ever, breaking the mark of about $50 million set in Mayweather’s win over Manny Pacquiao in 2015
